A Trip to Ohio

On November 30th we learned that my sisters best friend had passed away. It was unexpected and upsetting and I immediately knew that I needed to head to Ohio to be there for Lindsey. While in Ohio celebrating the life of an amazing girl, we also got to spend unexpected time with family and friends. I will be in Virginia for Christmas this year and didn't expect to see anyone in my family until sometime next Spring.

During my weekend in Ohio we laughed together, cried together, and most importantly we spent time together. Here are some photos and highlights from the weekend. Leaving Wednesday morning I flew from Fort Lauderdale to Tampa then to Columbus. I had never been in the Tampa airport before and was surprised by easy the airport is to navigate with seemingly very few people there. After flying into Columbus I spent time with Lindsey and Todd before we headed to Bravo to meet our family for dinner. It was great to see everyone and to spend some time together even though we were reunited for such a sad reason.

Thursday was spent relaxing at my dads house before attending the viewing at the funeral home. It was amazing to see how many people came out to celebrate Raquel. Friday morning we attended the funeral service, burial, and then Molly and I went to dinner with my best friend Sarah (where I forgot to take pictures). After dinner we met up with Lindsey and her friends and were out way too late.

After relaxing Saturday morning Molly and I helped my dad put up Christmas decorations and styled his family room bookshelf. I unfortunately forgot to take a before picture of the bookshelf. It was all books on the right 1/2 and picture frames on the left. We managed to remove and store 2/3 of the book in the lower cabinets and decided to store some of the photos too. The empty frames will be filed with pictures I had printed and sent to my dad!

Saturday evening we went to Ann's house to watch Ohio State play. We were more than pleased to see that they played a shut-out game. It was also exciting to find out on my way home that Ohio State made it into the playoff series. I can't wait to see them win against Alabama in a few weeks! Go Bucks!!

Sunday morning I caught a flight out of Columbus at 7:35am and came back to Florida. I honestly miss living close to my family, but I do not think I could ever move back to the cold weather in Columbus. Maybe one day they will all decide to move to the warm weather!
