Welcome to my Tuesday Thoughts on the Beachbody 3-Day Refresh. I originally decided to join a Fitness Challenge Group that was going to be completing a Beachbody 21-day fix that was being hosted by my best friend Alisa. I went on the Beachbody website to purchase my 21-day fix and read all about the 3-Day Refresh. I thought that it would be the perfect way to prep for the 21-day fix and decided to purchase both programs at the same time! In purchasing it with Alisa as my Beachbody coach I also received a free copy of the Plyo Fix DVD!
In prepping for the 3-day refresh I wanted to make sure that I could make one shopping trip to purchase everything that I needed for the 3 days. The shopping list consists of mainly fruits and vegetables, and I had most of the items at home already! The program guide provides you with so many options, and there is definitely something for everyone!
Below is a quick guide that describes briefly the meals that you eat for each of the 3 days of the Refresh:
- First Thing in the Morning | Drink 8-12 Ounces of Water
- Breakfast | Shakeology Shake [Strawberry, Vanilla, or Chocolate] and a serving of Fruit
- Mid-Morning | Fiber Sweep [Digestive Health Drink]
- Lunch | Vanilla Fresh [High-Protein Shake] plus a serving of fruit, vegetables, and a healthy fat
- Afternoon Snack | Your Choice of a serving of Fruit, Vegetables, or Juice Options
- Dinner | Vanilla Fresh plus a meal made from one of the 9 Dinner Recipes
It takes minimal work and planning to be successful with this program and I think that it would be a good option for someone trying to quickly cleanse their system or get ready for a more serious fitness program like the 21-Day Fix!
I am excited to that I was able to lose 2.2 pounds during the 3-Day Refresh and hoping to tone up and lose some more weight during the 21-Day Fix! I can honestly say that I had no issue with the food options during the refresh. The true challenge came in the fact that I did not love drinks that go along with this program.
- Shakeology | I enjoyed this most and found that blending in my fruit serving was a great way to add some flavor to the Strawberry Vegan option I chose. I added 1/2 a banana on day 1, blueberries on day 2 and raspberries on day 3! After I blended the shake and fruit I added ice and was good to go.
- Fiber Sweep | I found that mixing the fiber sweep with ice cold water, and adding ice after it was blended was the best way to prepare this one. On day 1 I don't think it was cold enough and was definitely harder to drink.
- Vanilla Fresh | No matter what I did to the Vanilla Fresh mix, I did not like it at all! I was able to best tolerate the Vanilla Fresh when it was really cold, but it was still a challenge. I was definitely happy when dinner was over on day 3, knowing I wouldn't have to drink this again.
During the Refresh you have an option of 9 dinner recipes to choose from. As the Refresh lasts only 3 days I thought it would be best to choose 3 different options. Here are the meals I chose during the Refresh!
- Cucumber and Tomato Salad
- Spinach Salad
- Roasted Asparagus with Almonds
